Key Programmes
1. Modular Enrichments
The acquisition of arts skills is further enhanced through direct arts-making during Art and Music lessons. All students are given the opportunity to acquire a focused art skill pitched at their level. The enrichment aims to expose them to different active arts experiences. The enrichments are as follow:-

2. Primary 2 Learning Journey to a Theatre Production
The school develops a structure to ensure that every student is given the opportunity to watch a public musical, dance or drama performance at least once in primary school years. Prior to the attending the performance, students get to learn about theatre etiquette. As a post-event activity, students pen down their learning experiences through a journal reflection.
3. Termly Aesthetics Assembly Programmes
Quality arts assembly programmes are scheduled termly to expose the students to a wide range of art forms. Assembly showcases by professional artists and arts groups such as Acapella group, Middle-East Instrumentation and Shadow Puppetry have been inspirational to the students. Outreach talks are also conducted for our Primary 5 and 6 students who are talented in Arts so that they are aware of the different alternatives secondary school path.
Enrichment Programmes
1. ABRSM Music Theory Class (Grade 1)
Students who are involved in music-related CCAs such as Brass Band, Choir and String Ensemble are given the opportunity to acquire the knowledge of Grade 1 Music Theory. It aims to enhance students’ practical experience in their respective CCAs. At the end of the course, they will sit for the ABRSM Grade 1 certification.
2. Lower Primary Music Enrichments
Primary 2 students are given a choice to go through different music enrichment programmes after-school. Violin and Brass Band enrichments are conducted to allow the young enthusiasts to start learning the music instrument before they start their CCAs in Primary 3.
3. Lower Primary Philatelic Museum Visit
Each stamp tells a story! Selected lower primary students who show interest and talent in art are involved in the guided tour of the museum galleries and learn about Singapore’s culture, heritage and milestones that have been recorded on stamps.
4. Little Picasso Art Camp
Students get to learn more about the different art techniques and skills during the school holiday’s Little Picasso Art Camp conducted by the Art teachers! Quality art pieces are curated and exhibited in the school and at public places such as libraries and community clubs.
Signature Programme
1. M.A.D (Music, Art and Dance) Day
M.A.D Day is a carnival-like day planned for Shuqunites to immerse themselves in a blend of various arts forms. Interesting theme is set every year to excite the students in this fun-filled day. Teachers, parents support group and alumni members work together to contribute ideas and efforts to bring arts expression and appreciation to a greater level for the students.
2. P6 Stardust Competition and St@R Time (Shuqun Talent @ Recess)
There are many opportunities for students to showcase their musical talents in Shuqun. Platforms such as S.T.A.R Time (Shuqun Talent @ Recess) and P6 Talent Competition aka Stardust are among the favourites.
