Physical & Health Education
Mission
To provide opportunities for our students to discover and pursue their interest in physical activities through Physical Education (PE). The department aims to prepare students to lead a healthy and active lifestyle beyond primary school, and develop character and leadership skills that are aligned to the school’s values.
Key Programmes
Sports and Wellness Fiesta
The Sports and Wellness Fiesta is an annual event that aims to promote both mental the physical well-being of the students through a variety of sports and physical activities. It is part of the school’s effort to develop the students holistically.
Students are exposed to a range of indoor and outdoor activities, such as bouldering and orienteering, which would give them the opportunity to pick up a new activity or skill. To promote healthy competition among their peers and a sense of belonging to their respective classes, students would accumulate points for their class when participating in the activities.
NAPFA (P4 & P6)
The National Physical Fitness Assessment (NAPFA) test is part of our efforts to encourage students to remain fit and healthy. It is mandatory for P4 and P6 students.
NAPFA comprises the following stations: (i) sit-up; (ii) standing broad jump; (iii) sit and reach; (iv) inclined pull-up; (vi) shuttle run; and (vii) 1.6km run.
