Mission

To develop in our students effective communication skills in the Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) and the love for the mother tongue cultures associated with the languages.

Key Programmes

Structured Reading Programme

The programme aims to cultivate reading habits in students and nurture them into self-directed learners. A reading period in the Mother Tongue language is set aside each week whereby the Mother Tongue teacher engages the students through book exploration and book extension activities. Students are also encouraged to do the reading activities booklet which includes book reviews and reflections and incorporates other strategies to share their reading experience.

MTL Cultural Window

Through the platform of Mother Tongue Language (MTL) Fortnight, festive celebration and other cultural events, students are immersed in a rich cultural environment and get to appreciate the heritage and culture associated with the languages which complement their learning of Mother Tongue in school.

Enrichment Programmes

Programme for High Progress students

Identified high progress learners are given extra opportunities to stretch their potential through competitions, E-book creations and school-based writing programme.
